1. What are the prerequisites for becoming an LTE Oral Examiner?
- Native English speaker proficient
- 2 years ongoing EFL experience
- Minimum Certificate level qualification in ELT, Diploma level preferred
- Able to attend training session if required, and able to commit to availability during specified marking period
- EFL / ESOL marking experience is desirable, but not essential
- BA / BSc
2. What training and support would I receive?
- Prior to the marking period you will attend a training meeting to give you an understanding of the marking criteria for the recorded orals
- You will be able to contact the Chief Examiner/Team Leader for should you encounter any problems during the marking period

3. How much marking will I be required to do?
You would mark around 100/150 interviews during a marking period of about 8/10 days. Each interview includes two candidates and lasts between 10 to 15 minutes. Once you are trained, the marking can be done at times to suit you around other commitments.
4. How often is the marking process carried out?
Exams are currently offered in:
- May
- June
- August
- November
- December of each year
The marking takes place after these sessions – our main sessions are May and December
5. What type of work would I be marking?
You would be marking and moderating candidates’ oral performance from sound recordings
